Mountain Bike Adventures There are numerous Mountain Biking adventures in the Quachita (Wash-she-ta) Mountains of South-west Arkansas, that surround Hot Springs National Park. If you enjoy single track with areas that offer breath taking views and great terrain then the Quachita mountains are the place to be. Whether you are a beginner or expert mountain biker, you can truly enjoy yourself here. So, if your looking for really technical stuff with steep rocky descents' and challenging climbs or miles of gently rolling terrain we can help to provide a one of a kind experience just for you.. The Womble is located 50 minutes from Hot Springs. 37 miles of groomed single track, over some of the most scenic areas in the state. Travel time one way is 5-12 hours. This can be either a single day or two trip. Marked with white triangles. This is an IMBA epic trail. This single track trail provides opportunities for riders of all skill levels. There are a multitude of options for out and back rides or setting up of shuttles, or utilizing adjacent highways and county roads for return loops. There are several climbs that any intermediate rider will have no problem staying on the bike. Lots of undulating trail on mostly groomed single track with occasional technical sections and creek crossings. Be extra cautious near the bluff areas. Some areas are wet and muddy during rainy season.
The Jessiville trail head is located 30 minutes from Hot Springs. 72 miles of point to point single track. A good 3 to 5 day adventure to ride the whole trail. The open section of trail begins at the trailhead on Highway 7 near Jesseville and travels east Mena. Some sections can be pretty hard and steep with some hike-a-bike and rocky technical sections. Of the 72 miles of trail the bulk of it is pretty good trail. Kind of like the Womble, but a little rockier, and a little steeper. Perfect for the rider looking for a little more challenge.
The trail head is located 45 minutes from Hot Springs. This trail system contains several different loops. The Glades offer rolling single track in the open woods. The South Loop, North Loop and Morgan's Hollow offers rough back woods terrain that can include some steep rocky descents' and breath taking vistas of Lake Quachita. Rocky Ridge lives up to its name with several section that can require hike-a-bike, even for expert riders.
The trail head is located 1 hour 15 minutes from Hot Springs Big Brushy To Highway 71- 28 miles point to point. Look forward to approximately 7 to 8 hours for a very strong and experienced rider. Intermediate and beginner riders should not attempt to ride this full section of trail. Not enough hours in a day and very few places to bail out. This section of trail clear to highway 71 has very technical trail with steep ascents and descents, and several hike-a-bike sections. Only for the very experienced rider. Ride from Big Brushy to Highway 71 or Highway 71 to Big Brushy. Either way it is a very challenging ride. Access the trail from Big Brushy by turning right on Forest Route 6 out of the campground, cross the bridge and go past the stairs leading to the hiking only trail section. Rockhouse Loop- Take the Ouachita Trail approximately 4 miles to the Rockhouse Trail. Take the Rockhouse Trail descent to Forest Route 6. A short distance to Forest Route E16B, and ascend back by way of the Mountain Top Trail. provide an enjoyable 2-4 hour ride, depending on skill level, on this technical section, mixed with some logging roads..
The trail head is located in Hot Springs A 9 1/2 mile Course located right in Hot Springs. Casual riding allow 2 hours, expert race pace 45 minutes. Well groomed mostly single track. Fast down hills, creek crossings, rock gardens, tight single track, natural whoop-dee-do's, one long climb and some technical rocky sections. Fun and Fast with easy in and out access.
